If you're anything like me, I always vow to start the year as I mean to go on. Making a hair appointment and sticking to it, going to the dentist for a scale and polish, not forgetting anybodies birthday and always sending them a card.

I'm going to the dentist today but I completely forgot about my Uncle George's birthday on 1st January.

We are always try to keep on top of the latest activity experiences and over the last few weeks we have welcomed a few more additions to our ever growing portfolio!

Anna's Wild Welsh Zoo has been broadcast on prime time ITV Wales television offering viewers an insight to the life at Manor House.
We are delighted to now have a Zookeeper Experience Day to offer in Pembrokeshire, giving visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with the animals.

The Zookeeper experience is such a fantastic addition to our activity days out and we are looking forward to working with the Wildlife Park in the future.

We also now have another exciting location where we can offer Harness Zorbing, we have an existing provider in Gwynedd but now have a cracking addition in Pembrokeshire, famous for it's spectacular coastline and unspoilt countryside.

The South Wales coastline is well known for it's ideal locations for Coasteering, but it is great that we now have an activity provider on board offering Coasteering, along with other popular adventure activities such as Gorge Walking and Kayaking in the Conwy area of North Wales too.

We took the little ones to see Arthur Christmas last night and sat in the front row. Mum and I hadn't given it a thought that it might be busy, you know with it being the 23rd December and a cracking Christmas title that every child wants to watch!

New Activity Experiences with Activity Wales

Of late, Activity Wales have secured two brand new activity experiences in Wales, River Tubing and Golf Simulator.

River Tubing is set to be huge, it is already dubbed as one of biggest new activities to sweep the world of adventure activities, (imagine riding down the river on a doughnut, that is the inflatable kind not the sugary kind!). I watched the Wales Rally GB a few years ago at the Millennium Stadium during the Cardiff Stage. I didn't particularly have a clue what was going on or who was who, but I really enjoyed it.

I also seem to have created a memorable association between the Wales Rally GB and Christmas. I mean the rally isn't days until Christmas or anything, but for some reason whenever I see or hear anything to do with the rally I immediately think about Christmas!

I was watching clips of the first stage in Great Orme, Llandudno last night and it is pretty amazing to see how these guys drive. I really do admire their driving skills, though it does remind me of how mundane mine are! I sometimes struggle to reverse park so I don't think rally driving is my hidden forte.

The dark nights really do get on my nerves.

I am a very outdoorsy person and I get very upset when work is finished for the day and all you are greeted with is the disappearing light and a nippy chill on the nose. I'd love to be taking brisk walks across the beach, swimming in the seas and cycling the countryside of an evening.

You either like it or you don't. For me, Halloween is an excuse to let the kids have some harmless, spooky fun.

Like everybody else in Wales, I am gutted that our boys cruelly missed out on a Rugby World Cup final, it just didn't seem fair.

Questioning the whys and how's unfortunately though will not change the result.

We deserved to win the game, but there were opportunities missed that we needed to have taken, it just wasn't meant to be.

The proud Welshmen on the field on Saturday fought right until the bitter end, they showed fight, determination and proved against all the odds that they are simply a class act.

On Friday, we need to show the world that we haven't given up and claim bronze ahead of the Wallabies. Heads up boys, you can do it.

Wales are only going to get so much better.

As if I wasn't already in love with Wales, I have most certainly rolled head over heels in love now, thanks to their awesome performance in the Rugby World Cup!

To hear the echo of the classic 'Delilah' being belted out with passion last Saturday, as our boys won a phenomenal quarter final against Ireland and secured our place in the semi final this Saturday against the French, truly was the best start to a day...ever!

As everyone, I wish I could tap my little red shoes together and instantly appear in New Zealand to join the roar of red shirts, but the support needs to be loud back home too, so I decided to stay and have a party in Pembrokeshire instead!

I cannot wait until Saturday morning.

Look out the French and come on Wales!

This year seems to have gone even faster than any other year has ever done before. My mum says it's because I am getting older.

A Spectacular Ironman Wales

Ironman Wales was amazing. The scenes across Tenby and Pembrokeshire were phenomenal, something both the residents and athletes will never ever forget.

The atmoshpere was electric from 7 in the morning until the black of midnight with crowds of supporters, friends and families lining the streets and cheering the athletes on as they past through their towns and villages.

Ironman Wales was held in Tenby on Sunday 11th September and is the biggest sporting event to be witnessed in Pembrokeshire. The event, which has already become recognised as the toughest Ironman course in the world, challenges athletes to a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride finishing with a marathon of 26.2 miles.

Ironman Wales brought the communities within South Pembrokeshire together and created a magnificent atmosphere that was felt by everyone that was in any way involved with the event. The positive feedback that has been recieved about the support, friendliness, hospitality and cheer of the local people of Pembrokeshire is simply overwhelming.

Pembrokeshire is so very proud of their Ironman Wales and can't wait until 2012!

Pembrokeshire - 3rd Hiking Destination in the World

The accolades for Pembrokeshire just keep on coming. This beautiful county is already gushing with pride for having had recognition for it's sandy beaches, wildlife and spectacular scenery in the past and now the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path has been named as one of the greatest hiking trails in the world.

Last year the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path celebrated it's 40th anniversary and it is outstanding that this amazing recognition of coming third in the top 10 hiking destinations in the world emphasises even more how admired the coastal path still is by locals and visitors from across the world 40 years later.

I am still blown away by the scenery that surrounds me every day, my mum and I walked from Broad Haven South round to Freshwater East a few weekends ago and it was simply stunning. We were the only set of footprints wandering across the beaches, the blue sky and sunshine was upon us and mum spent time picking wild mushrooms growing alongside the path. I hope they weren't magic! If only we had thought to bring our swimming gear - the clear, bright blue sea was calling.

Harry Potter Magic Remains

Last night I watched the 50 most brilliant Harry Potter moments.

It is magical to learn that the scene of which was filmed on our home turf in Pembrokeshire at Freshwater West beach has excelled in greatness coming within the top five most brilliant Harry Potter moments.

I watched the clip in awe last night as I recognised every inch of the fabulous beach and felt so proud to know I have made many footprints and my dog many paw prints in that very sand!

Freshwater West beach features in The Deathly Hallows (part 1) and plays the backdrop for the scene in which sadly, the adorable little elf Dobby dies. But if anything, this sad moment only emphasizes the significance of the role the beach played at such an iconic moment in the film.

I love Freshwater West beach , it has a long stretch of sand, laced by pebbles and loads of rocks to climb as well as being a haven for surfers all year round.

Pembrokeshire is renowned for it's fabulous beaches and coastline and if you have never visited before it is definitely time to arrange a holiday! I don't even mean in the height of the summer holidays, in fact wandering the beaches arm in arm when there is nobody else around is the best time - first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

Tenby named Wales' Top Beach!

I cannot feel anymore proud than knowing that the beautiful beach of Tenby in my very own divine County of Pembrokeshire has been named Wales' top beach!

Tenby is right on my doorstep and I already feel very lucky to be only a short drive away from Tenby and many other terrific, unspoilt beaches but now, after this massive achievement I am flying high right over the moon!

Tenby is a beautiful place that is loved by so many people whether it be lucky locals or appreciative holiday makers to our charming Pembrokeshire County. The beaches in Tenby are a marvel themselves, with the stretches of golden sands, rugged rocks and blue seas washing upon the shingle. When then complimented by the pastel coloured terraced buildings in the background, cobbled streets winding through the town and brisk walks around Castle Rock and along the Esplanade, Tenby is simply a pretty place painted in preparation to make a perfect postcard picture.

What is gratifying about this recognition for Tenby is that it has become 'top beach' in Wales through the admiration from travellers around the world, who have visited Tenby and really liked what they saw. For that, a massive thank you and well done should be given to those who help to preserve, maintain and cuddle all our beaches in Pembrokeshire.

Tenby is also host to some massive events this coming year, starting with The Long Course Weekend over Friday 3rd - Sunday 6th June. As the marvel that is Kiteboarding was recently featured on BBC's Countryfile with David Ursell, I thought it may be a nice idea to mention that through Activity Wales we can offer this delightful Kiteboarding experience in Pembrokeshire, South West Wales.

Big Blue Kitesurfing welcome visitors to Pembrokeshire all year round, to discover new and exciting coastal experiences upon the fabulous 3 mile stretch of sandy beach, Newgale. Backed by a large pebble bank, a defence against the high tide, and abundance of flat sand and clear waters it is obvious why this beach offers an amazing setting for getting to grips with Kiteboarding, Powerkiting, Wakeboarding, Kitesurfing, Paddleboarding and learning to control a Zap Cat.

As it was Kiteboarding that was presented by BBC's Countryfile, I feel it's only fair to offer a little further insight as to what this experience entails and why all should give it a go in Pembrokeshire.

Kiteboarding requires only light wind behind you and offers a great alternative to Kitesurfing as you don't get wet! Kiteboarding uses similar skills to Kitesurfing, during your experience you will learn the board skills required to cruise safely along the beach, speed control, changing direction, stopping (!) and all important safety awareness and beach use.

Big Blue Kitesurfing are masters of teaching all things wacky and exciting across the beach and cruising the sea. Big Blue are more than happy to welcome complete beginners to Kiteboarding or any of their other experiences I have mentioned They also have the skills, knowledge and professionalism to offer guidance and progression with hardcore advanced techniques such as jumps, power slides, turns and rotations.

Wales will be celebrating Saint David's Day tomorrow, Tuesday 1st March.

We are getting closer to celebrating the day of love in Wales. Tomorrow is St Dwynwen's Day who is our welsh patron saint of love. Aww. I can't help but feel that it's almost exclusive to people in Wales, which is pretty sweet really.

As much as I think that Valentine's Day these days has gone a little too far with all the hype and silly nonsense, I can't seem to help but get involved. I suppose when you strip back all the crazy hysteria, you are left with the true meaning of Valentine's Day. Love.

I think for this year, we all should embrace our welsh St Dwynwen's Day by sending a little card with an abundance of hearts at your signature, then arrange something special and out of this world for a couple of weeks later.

Long Course Weekend

Well what a weekend. The pretty harbour, cobbled streets and friendly atmosphere of Tenby really did prove to be a fantastic host to Activity Wales Events Long Course Weekend.

The three day endurance triathlon held between the 24th and 26th September brought an abundance of athletes, their families and friends to come together and enjoy the very best of what Pembrokeshire has to offer. The electric atmosphere over the weekend was thanks to all of the enthusiastic locals who spent hours cheering and clapping the athletes as they past through small villages, tackled hills and flew over the finish line.

The Long Course Weekend consisted of three separate events; The Wales Swim (1.5 or 3km), The Wales Sportive (40, 80 or 120 mile) and The Wales Marathon (half or full). Participants were free to tackle whichever event and distance they wanted to tackle, with the exception of 40 brave triathletes who embraced the challenge of completing the full Long Course jigsaw of 3km swim, 120 mile bike and full marathon.

Out of the 40 Long Course athletes first entered, only a defiant bunch of 16 finally finished.

Oliver Simon was crowned King of the Long Course finishing with a commendable time of 9 hours and 53 minutes!

The Long Course Weekend was truly a magnificent spectacle to witness and is sure to be again when it hits Pembrokeshire in June 2011. Bordered by the sea, Pembrokeshire excelled as a host to the newest and most demanding triathlon to hit the UK, which is why it is now to become the county to welcome IronMan Wales in 2011!

Activity Wales Events consider it a massive honour to have contributed to putting IronMan Wales on the calender, with the date scheduled for Sunday 11th September 2011. Athletes can expect to be welcomed into Pembrokeshire with open arms, and whilst visiting embrace the outstanding beauty of our Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park, stunning scenery, sandy beaches and iconic landmarks.

To begin the 3.8k swim at Tenby's South beach, with the challenging 180k bike ride to follow and finishing with a triumphant 42k marathon. This is one marvel not to be missed.

The Royal Welsh Show 2010

I am a huge fan of visiting the Royal Welsh Show, but it would seem that I haven't been for a few years. So this year when I was given the chance to exhibit with Activity Wales and Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire I jumped at the chance.

There is always such a 'nice' feeling about The Royal Welsh, it maybe because it has been held at Llanelwedd since 1963 and so the superb organisation and layout has been practiced time and time again, that the many dedicated helpers could now arrange the festivities with their eyes closed.

Activity Wales and Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire were one of the 1000 trade stands to attend the show which is held over four days, where the figure of 177,000 presented itself as the number of visitors to attend the bustling event and it's full programme of entertainment over the four days.

I love getting involved and being part of the team representing the company that I enjoy working for everyday, it allows me to meet people who love and admire Pembrokeshire and Wales as a whole as much as I do. With The Royal Welsh Show being set in the heart of the Mid Wales Countryside, it is not surprising that you get to feel so very proud of your Welsh roots.

Even the drive from Pembrokeshire to Builth Wells is something amazing to admire, the rolling countryside, magnificent views across the valleys, the fresh mountain air and the winding roads. It really does offer some wonderful sights during the journey that makes it feel as though it has only taken a mere five minutes to get there.

I know that I have driven or been passenger to those roads a handful of times before but it seems that there is always something else to catch my eye or things that I notice hidden amongst the hills that I don't recall ever seeing before. You can certainly understand why so many revel in the opportunity to take their motorbikes for a spin around those mountains to Llandovery and beyond, it is amazingly picturesque.

The four days proved well worth the visit as many popped in to our candy striped marquee to spark conversation on Pembrokeshire and beyond. Some had sadly never been to our hidden gem on the South West Wales coast before, but there were so many who return to Pembrokeshire for their holidays annually and have done so for many many years before.

I couldn't believe that 3292 horse and ponies were entered at this years Royal Welsh with 529 of my favourite, the stunning animal which is the supreme Welsh Cob. They are such a powerful and vibrant breed, I admire and uphold their almighty presence.

A little piece of smart advice would be to pencil in the 18-21st July for The Royal Welsh Show 2011 and embrace the fabulous welsh culture in which it captures year after year. Hopefully I'll see you there!

Mumbles Triathlon

Mumbles Triathlon went off with a bang. What a fantastic weekend and even the sunny weather we ordered turned up without fail.

Watching the sunrise at 5am over the Mumbles coastline made getting up at stupid o'clock well worth it. It was such a fantastic morning, the sea was calm, the sky blue and the sun was peeping from behind the ragged rocks. It was just the most perfect and unspoilt setting for all of the athletes arriving bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to face their tri.

It was the making for a simply perfect day.

Registration on the sun deck of Mumbles Yacht Club went down a storm on the Friday evening, with a great turn out for the pasta party! It was great to make the most of the evening and ensure that everyone admired the fantastic view across the bay.

For someone who really enjoys meeting people and chatting their ear off, I found the registration process perfect for me. Even though it only lasted a few minutes I was truly in my element!
It was great to meet all of the athletes, have a chat and then watch them cross over the finish line on Saturday morning and give them all a great big smile and well done. A sweaty hug was out of the question...

For me watching the swim was absolutely amazing. From the pier you had a great view across the water and saw the mass, deep water start in all it's glory. It was something else...almost like a giant washing machine churning constantly. Fair play to the two swimmers that powered ahead, the early lead was immense.

It's funny isn't it, this may just be me but boy did I want to jump in and join everybody. It was so inspiring to watch everybody mingling and having a ball. They truly looked like they were having so much fun.

I really enjoyed my time in Mumbles and I am 100% confident to say that everybody else did too. I simply cannot wait until next year...

...HAHA, but maybe I don't!

For it's very first year, September 2010 brings The Long Course Weekend to Tenby, Pembrokeshire. It is set to be the most exciting and new triathlon event to come to the UK since Ironman. The major difference of The Long Course being, instead of 17 hours straight the triathlon is being stage over three days...The Wales Swim, The Wales Sportive and finishing with The Wales Marathon.

I'm walking on sunshine...

Well what a terrific weekend. The sun has arrived and I love it...

I am officially a sun worshiper, some might say a little too much sometimes but something smiles inside of me when the sky is blue and the sun is out saying hello.
I spent the whole weekend with my fiance out on the boat, exploring our beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline. For something different we decided to take a spin out towards Skomer Island and the sea was pretty calm really, I suppose there wasn't much of a wind on Saturday. Normally when you pass St Ann's Head the air changes and the sea gets a little choppier as you officially head out to sea but it was fairly inviting.
I do love watching all the birds bobbing up and down riding the waves they look so at home. My mum loves Puffins and boy was there an abundance of them soaking up the sun over the weekend. It was like they had all decided to meet at this one cove as there was an army of them bobbing altogether in this one spot. I still can't really get over how small and adorable they are, I think their rainbow coloured beaks make them exceed the 'cute' factor!
After Skomer we tootled over to Broad Haven and it was lovely to see all the children splashing around at the waters edge, people enjoying the picnics and soaking up the sun.
We then spent the rest of Saturday and all day Sunday enjoying the peaceful setting of Watick Bay, which is a little bay set around the corner from Dale. It is one little hot spot and the water is so clear.

We are definitely wanting to make the most of this gorgeous weather and so hoping to head out again today after work and head down towards Lawrenny. May even treat ourselves to a bar snack!

It is surprising how quick May is whizzing past actually before we know it our Activity Wales Events team will be heading down to Mumbles to launch the Mumbles Triathlon on Saturday 26th June. That is going to be a terrific day, a great setting with friendly people and a challenge for all who has entered. It is amazing the registrations that have flooded in, people are going crazy for this triathlon though spaces are limited.
If anyone is interested, the Mumbles Tri offers competitors a choice between two distances:

Long Sprint 750m open water swim - 32k bike - 5 k (2 laps) run
Short Sprint 750m open water swim - 21k bike - 2.5k run

Walking Wales - Pembrokehire Dawn Walk returns

Since I completed the Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk with my dad last year, I haven't stopped walking since.

I didn't realise how quick this years walk was going to come around, it is this coming Sunday 16th May. Last year, we were a little unfortunate with the weather...my mum, my dad and I were sat around the kitchen table nibbling on our toast as the wind and rain battered against the back door. It was then I decided to slip on my waterproofs. This year though I feel the sun is going to shine!

The Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk on Sunday 16th May is to raise funds for McMillan Cancer Support, with walkers setting off at dawn along a scenic route of 26 miles from Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest and finishing at Cresselly Cricket Club in time for the well earned party and celebrations!

So this coming Saturday evening will see my mum and I having a generous helping of pasta for tea followed by us kicking back on the sofa watching Britain's Got Talent conserving all our energy for the early start on Sunday.

Back pack, plasters, a bottle of water and I am ready to go...

Just quickly, I wanted to touch on a walking event between the 29th May and 11th June in Pembrokeshire. Coast Path Walk 2010 is an extra special 14 day walk along the full length of the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast Path - booking is essential.

Rosie's on her way home!

Rosie has finished her last but one marathon in Llanelli today! Well done to all the guys in llanelli for looking after Rosie after 26 marathons!!

So Marathon 27 tomorrow...The last one back home on The Wales Marathon Course. Rosie aims to start from Tudor Square at 9 am and anticipates finishing around 6pm, once again back in the square.

Rosie Swales - One Marathon down (a few to go!)

Well Tenby was bustling on Easter Monday as Rosie Swales and her Ice Bird kicked off her 26 Marathons in 26 Days on home ground starting at Tenby's Tudor Square for 8am.

Raising money for Ty Hafan, the testing Marathon yesterday was the first of Rosie's 26 Marathons with the rest being forecast at varying locations across the country accordingly. Today Rosie is heading to Cardiff to tackle number two.

Great local support was apparent everywhere around the Tenby and Lydstep areas as car horns were consistently beeping as they drove past Rosie, generously donating their loose change as they past all helping towards Rosie's target to raise £3000 for Ty Hafan.

To help Rosie along her way staff at Ty Hafan, friends, locals and members of our Activity Wales and Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire teams each jogged a mile alongside Rosie to keep the pace going and ensure Rosie was happy at all times.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stint with Rosie and I'd take my hat off (if I was wearing one) to Rosie for her obvious enthusiasm and determination to complete this magnificent challenge.

Rosie also broke more news yesterday in that she didn't really think that running 26 Marathons was going to be enough of a challenge, so she has decided to add in an extra one at the end that she will complete back on her home turf in Tenby!

Well done Rosie and keep going. What an inspiration!

Mumbles Triathlon

Activity Wales Events are itching to kick this years stream of events into action and where better to begin than the Mumbles Triathlon in June.

Run under the rules of the British Triathlon Association, Activity Wales Events are proud to add the Mumbles Triathlon to their series of events throughout the year. The Mumbles Tri will take place on Saturday 26th June promptly starting at 7am. A request for the sun to shine has been submitted!

To ensure that the Mumbles Tri Wales appeals to all competitors of all ranging abilities, the triathlon course will be split into two distances, leaving no excuse for any budding athlete to not take part.

All competitors will partake in the 750m open swim around the picturesque Mumbles Bay, then arises the choice between the long or short sprint. The long sprint will go on to complete the merciless 32k bike ride consisting of infamous challenges throughout and the short sprint will accomplish their 21k bike ride the great and celebrated Gower roads. Finally to execute your finish the long sprint will endure their 5k run with the short sprint tackling their 2.5k run along the fast and flat shoreline of Mumbles Bay.

Forest Experience 4 x 4 Experience Day

Forest Experience Rally School in Powys offer an invaluable half day 4 x 4 Off Road Experience, providing a great introduction for those keen to brush up on their off road driving skills.

I am delighted to announce that Time Out Magazine were so impressed with the 'Try Something New' element to the half day 4 x 4 Off Road adventure with Forest Experience Rally School and the way in which Activity Wales presented the product, that they chose to feature the roaring experience day in their April issue of Time Out Magazine.

The Half Day 4 x 4 Off Road Driving Experience is a raw event where keen drivers can encounter a whopping 900 acres of unspoilt welsh forestry, offering great fun and plenty of insane, yet controlled off road mania. A full driving licence must be held by all participating drivers.

For £99 per person your half day experience will be neatly structured as follows:

The 4x4 half day off road driving experience session will start with a short briefing on 4x4 operation. After which you will depart for the forest and begin familiarisation runs on forest tracks before moving onto the nursery sections driving alongside your instructor.

Once you have successfully mastered these off road driving sections you will move onto more difficult terrain, which will include ascending and descending plentiful slopes and banks. You will end your driving experience by driving the course again but this time in reverse!

At the end of your activity session you will receive a certificate of completion.

St David's Day

Roll on St David's Day - the national day of celebration within Wales on March 1st.

I am hoping that our St David's Day this year will be a combined celebration when Wales beat France tomorrow night at the Millenium Stadium. If we do, I will still being singing Shaun Edwards' favourite 'Saturday Night at the Movies' on Monday morning!

I didn't realise that at one time (back in 2006), the Welsh campaigned for St David's Day to become a recognised bank holiday - but Tony Blair rejected the proposition. I guess it would have meant us having to sacrifice a different bank holiday instead.

Every year a variety of parades and festivities are held across Wales to celebrate our patron saint of Wales with this year being no exception.

St David's Day celebrations in Cardiff will include concerts, a parade and a food festival. The events will kick off tomorrow, 26th February with the third annual Really Welsh Food Festival in the city centre. Featuring all welsh produce the festival will continue over 27th and 28th February inclusive.

The changing of the guard will commence at Cardiff Castle's south gate on 27th and 28th February by the soldiers from the Royal Welsh Regiment.

Visitors to Cardiff Castle on March 1st will be given a FREE tube of daffodil bulbs to commemorate the day. I think that's a really sweet touch....

Although the parade in Cardiff is the largest staged, Colwyn Bay in North Wales create an annual parade through the centre of the town too.

For me, I have two poignant memories of traditions that I most associate with St David's Day...

Firstly, being in school and performing in the Eisteddfod singing and performing in Welsh wearing my little Welsh lady costume. Mum thought I looked adorable with my curly hair under the hat!!

Secondly for me was returning home for good old fashioned cawl - vegetables only for me mind.

It is amazing the recognition a bowl of cawl has throughout Wales during the winter months - you see it advertised in cafes everywhere. Mind you cawl goes down a storm as half time grub at the pubs when Wales are playing rugby!

Don't forget your daffodil and wherever you are in Wales enjoy your St David's celebrations.

Marvellous Mother's Day

Rosie Swales to Run the Activity Wales Marathon

Twenty-six marathons in 26 days! To most people that’s unthinkable.
But not for Tenby’s round-the-world adventurer Rosie Swale Pope MBE, who will be stepping out on the challenge in April in aid of children’s hospices.
And her first marathon on her epic 681.2-mile journey will be in her very own home town as she launches Tenby’s new Wales Marathon.
Rosie is teaming up with Matthew Evans, chief executive of Activity Wales, and company director Scott Powell to promote the exciting three-day gruelling event which is being hosted by Tenby in September.
Rosie, 63, will run the 26.2-mile course on Easter Monday, April 5, pulling her famous cart Icebird, which accompanied her for a large part of her 21,000-mile global trek.
The Wales Marathon will be Pembrokeshire’s first ever measured marathon and will be held on Sunday, September 26, as part of the Long Course Weekend.
The whole event will include the 1,500 and 3,000-metre Wales Swim on Friday, September 24, 40, 80 or 120-mile Wales Sportif bike rides on the Saturday, followed by the full marathon and a half marathon which will start and finish in Tenby on the Sunday.
The event is being organised by Matthew, Scott and Activity Wales.
Both are well-known athletes, with Matthew having completed 10 marathons in 10 days and the Ironman Austria last year, while Scott already owns and runs many national award-winning events.
Although the event is still in its planning stages, with the marathon course - which will see runners complete loops heading out from Tenby towards Manorbier and back along The Ridgeway to Penally and Tenby - officially being measured in March, they are hoping to get as much community support as possible.
“It is unique,” said Scott. “There is no race like it that sees these sports come together over one weekend.
“We aim to get all the communities around Tenby involved and make the event a real carnival atmosphere, with a prize up for grabs for the best community support.”
Participants will be able to raise funds for their own charities, but there will be an overall charity that the event will support.
“To have Rosie running the route is quite a treat,” added Matthew.
“Tenby is hosting this event, which is fantastic for both the town and Pembrokeshire.”
Participants can enter as many of the races as they want, with finishers receiving medals which will, if all three are completed, form a jigsaw to create the unique Long Course Weekend medal.
Rosie’s other 25 marathons will all be in Wales and England.
Her friend and supporter, Geoff Hall, is currently working out her schedule, but other runs are likely to include Bristol, Bath, Hereford and Gloucester.
“It is just a little challenge, but is very important to me,” she said.
“It will be very hard, but I have been partly inspired by Matthew, who did 10 marathons in 10 days, which is unbelievably gruelling, and Eddie Izzard, who did a huge amount of marathons, one of which I ran with him,” she continued.
“I know I will be very slow and it will be harder because I am pulling Icebird. I am not superwoman; I am just an ordinary runner, but it is wonderful to be doing my first marathon here in Tenby and I will just go on from there.”
The marathons, Rosie says, are her personal thank you to all the people who have always been there for her through thick and thin, and will also be in aid of two very special hospices.
Rosie continued: “There are many causes that are forever part of my life. I felt the need to do something for the children of Britain during these marathons, and intend to raise funds and awareness for Ty Hafan, the family hospice in Cardiff, and Helen House in Oxford, the world’s first children’s hospice, and Douglas House, also in Oxford, the first for young people. They are remarkable, and I am so proud to run for them.
“I was very moved when I visited Ty Hafan recently and hope that I can raise £3,000 for each, so every penny counts.”
Rosie is now busy training, for which she has received advice from her friend Ann Rowell and Runners World.

Happy New Year!

The New Year gives us all the chance to be better than we were the year before, promise to give chocolate up for the month of January and offers that friendly boost to get motivated, fit and fantastic! My Davina DVD has officially been wiped free of the cobwebs!

Look, I know even the thought of giving up chocolate for one whole month for most people would make them cry into their pillows like a baby, so let's throw that one out of the window for now. January is hard enough getting by with a pocket full of pennies let only giving up your only saviour. Mind you the price of chocolate these days is getting ridiculous. I went into Morrison's garage the other day and low and behold a bar of Wispa Gold was a heart wrenching 52p! The woman behind me had to scrape me up off the floor.

Anyway, I seem to be getting side tracked yet again. So I was thinking, how about arousing the devil inside you and get to grips with an exciting new challenge for 2010?

New Year Frolics

Radio One are dubbing it the Crimbo Limbo, we are officially within the lull between Christmas and New Year.
I am more of a Christmas fan to be honest, the pretty lights, presents and all the Maynard's Wine Gums you can eat. I actually nearly made myself sick the other night I had eaten so many. The trouble is, people will buy me a box. So, when I am sat on the sofa face to face with 600g to demolish, I just don't seem to know when to stop. It's not until I go to get up that I feel my stomach starting to burst at the seams!
New Year's Eve to me is a little too hectic. Don't get me wrong I like a drink as much as the next person, but I almost prefer the 'family' time of New Year's Day, a few nibbles and 'quiet' drinks around town. I think this year we may head down to Saundersfoot and watch the New Year's Day swim. I would like to say that I am brave enough to attempt the freezing dip myself one year but I wouldn't want to fib. Fair play to anyone that goes for either the Boxing Day swim in Tenby or the New Year's Day in Saundersfoot, you must be flipping freezing to say the least! I remember one year, the beach was packed down in Tenby and next minute, along waddles a recycled youngster wearing that awful green Borat swimsuit. Need I say anymore?!
Do you know what always makes me smile on Boxing Day? You can tell what everyone has had for Christmas. It's true, I know I've done it! The new hat and scarf sets come out, the new bags, coats and shoes. This year, I am guilty of the hat and scarf set. I am just waiting for the year everyone turns up in their new pj's. Come on, they are a must have for Christmas aren't they?!

I was back to work yesterday and boy is it hard to get back into the swing of things! I did not have a clue what day it was, but I guess it doesn't take long to become human again and figure how to type your name. Isn't it funny that when you go back to the office and you haven't seen everyone for a few days that out comes the same question at exactly the same time, 'How was your Christmas?' And you have a little giggle and respond, 'Very good thank you.' Sweet really isn't it. Well in a few days it will be a 'Happy New Year'.

Christmas Party Party Party Time...!

I know, I'm sorry. I haven't wrote to you adrenalin junkie lot for ages. I have been busy though you know.
Well with all my massive apologies out of the way let's get rid of the boring gloom and think tinsel, chocolates, flashing lights and nut roast. Ok, for you 'grrrrr' hearty meat eaters you may prefer to think poor old gobble, gobble turkey instead of the nut roast. If you must.
Tonight is the night where the office uniform is stripped, party frocks start spinning and the one unfortunate someone is left slumped in the corner having drank a little too much wine! I am hoping that this year won't be my turn...
I do love a good old party, but I love it even more when the people that you work with everyday get the opportunity to relax and have a few drinks together outside of the office. It really does create a fantastic buzz between everybody and gives us something to have a laugh about for weeks after.
I am getting a little excited now...it's lunchtime, which means the morning has well and truly passed, meaning that 16.00 is only now going to get closer.
I hope my little dress is going to be ok. I wonder if anywhere states that a dress has to be of a certain length or something? I know that the blokes must be in trousers tonight rather than jeans, but I never gave that a thought. Oh well, it's not that short anyway!! Party on...!

It isn't a terrific day in Pembrokeshire today, raining and pouring like crazy. A little grey and glum.

I was lying there this morning waiting for my 'House of Pain' alarm to go off in a strange little daze listening to the patter of the raindrops against the velux windows. I felt as though I wasn't awake and away dreaming, but then as if I was awake. Does that makes any sense? It was a weird sensation that doesn't happen a lot, but when it does it makes me wonder. I am like away in the land of fairies in my mind but in the present day in body. Wow, I seem to be getting a little metaphoric. Nothing wrong with being a little arty farty I suppose.

So here I am again babbling about absolutely nothing and yes, I can only apologise. In thinking, my writing to you lately has been a little scarce, so I think I should make an effort to apologise quickly for that at the same time too. Sorry.

It's Halloween soon. I best get the sweets in for the treaters. Actually, I best not got them this soon as I will only end up eating them all. Haha, I went to Tesco the other day and have started picking up the odd bits and bobs for the kids stockings, some of which being tubes of Fruit Pastilles and Jelly Tots. I had to drop them round to Mum's on the way home to keep them safe for me as I simply have little...um NO faith in my will power whatsoever. Honestly, I could demolish a packet of Haribo in the first half of Eastenders easy. It's a bit of a terrible habit actually. Though I always make sure I give my teeth a good brush afterwards.

I think I may watch Dirty Dancing tonight. It's one of those films where you go day by day, night by night and then one day remember that you have the DVD and it's been months since you watched it last. You then snuggle up under the duvet with a packet of Haribo and it all becomes clear why you love the film soooo flipping much.
It is though such a shame that the reason why I have been prompt to watch it again tonight is because Patrick sadly lost his 2 year battle against cancer yesterday. He really did hit it big with Dirty Dancing in '87 didn't he? What a man with movement!
Wedding plans are looking promising and already I can see how easy it is to spend a grand or two! I have had to pick Dad up off the floor a few times and that's before buying the dress. I am sure though that it will all be worth it and help to make Christmas 2010 one to remember. I am hoping for one of those crisp, sunny mornings with a bite in the air and wouldn't mind one bit if a blanket of snow appeared on cue either!

Just a Little Run Around the World...

Isn't it scary how the months pass, the season's forever seem to be changing and the Summer has passed for another year?

I hate it when a day ends. I always feel as though I should have done more. I suppose sometimes it's pure laziness if I don't end up doing a lot or... yeah actually it is just being lazy. The Bank Holiday for me was pretty chilled, but I wanted it that way. Saturday Mart and I bought a cute sofa for the new pad, dinner at Frankie and Bennie's then out celebrating the end of the cricket season. Sunday, haha oh Sunday was a pretty memorable day. Mart was feeling a little ill after the night before, though we did manage to take a look around the Church for our wedding next year and pop for a bite to eat afterwards. I don't think I have ever seen him struggle to drink a beer like that in the whole time we have been together. Thinking on it I should have taken a photo to stick in the album! We ended Sunday with a massive duvet afternoon watching TV. Monday, well Monday was a bit of a strange day. We weren't too sure what we actually wanted to do so ended up spending pennies in Tesco. Spent the afternoon wandering around Tenby having a drink or two and getting a pressie for mum and dad.
I bought them a copy of the extraordinary true story of Rosie Swale Pope. Rosie amazingly took a 'Little Run Around the World' for 5 years, tackling 3 packs of wolves and 53 pairs of shoes in memory of her husband who died of cancer. Rosie funded her trip from the rent of her little cottage Salad Days in Tenby, let through Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire.
Rosie herself lives in the popular seaside town of Tenby and yesterday was partaking in a book signing at Tenby Bookshop. Spotting a terrific oppurtunity I popped along, said hello and got a signature for mum and dad. Sorted.

I don't know. I can't find the sunshine for love nor money. It is such a shame that Mr Sun doesn't have the enthusiasm these days to show his bright cheerful face, I miss him and miss getting a nice bronze suntan - how shallow does that sound?!
Seriously, I know that we are all a bit down in the smelly dumps because it hasn't started out as being the most terrific summer of all time, but things can't be that bad that we have to sit around mopping about a 'little' bit of rain. Are they?
Let's just forget about being miserable with the rubbish weather and all get busy with celebrating the fact that I am now a massive 21 years of wise age and I am now officially ENGAGED...I know what your thinking, poor guy.
I would love to tell you all that he was sozzled when he popped the question and then woke up the following morning with a thumping headache with that horrible feeling of 'Oh what have I done?', but he wasn't and didn't actually. Mart had threw back around 4 double vodka, lime and lemonade, 2 cherry aftershock followed by a yard of ale, but I wouldn't call that sozzled at all.
Only joking. What a joker I am. It was rather romantic, I went all funny and gooey. We are moving into a little stone cottage next week too. Oh god it has just dawned on me that I will have to clean the toilet. Maybe if I do the ironing Mart will take over that disgu-um, marvellous chore.
So that is what is happening in Natty land.
The old Whale and Dolphin trip going from St Justinian's is extremely popular you know. I'm not sure why I just thought of that but just though I would comment. Obviously it can't be guaranteed that the wildlife will be right on cue when you are sailing past but it is completely worth parting with a few well-earned pennies. If you are planning a visit to Pembrokeshire soon I would go for it. Give me a shout if you need any further info.
I am going for food tonight at The Bay Tree in Tenby. Gorgeous food, really tasty. I tend to go for the broccoli and something crepes. It is to celebrate my engagement - did I tell you that I have got engaged to a 'gorgeous stud'? Oh yes, of course I did.
It was really funny yesterday. My mum and dad had arranged for our announcement to be popped into the local paper, really cute photo alongside the wrong flipping name! Ha, they got Mart's surname incorrect. Never mind. At least he knows about the other fella now.

Margarita of course. Being a veggie I can seem to stretch as far as say maybe onions and fresh tomatoes as a few added extras, but say NO to yukky peppers, olives and mushrooms. Urggh.

I am feeling as though I need a little adventure or 'challenge' for the like of a better word. After having trained and completed the Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk back in May, (the whole 26 miles I would just like to pop in brackets), I feel as though I am now recovered and ready to grab something else right by the horns! Any ideas?! I mean seriously, I guess I do entertain myself to a fair degree with the horse riding, wakeboarding and general dog walking day to day, but I do just fancy that little bit of something else you know? I'm not a great runner, but I can run - if you know what I mean. Better at the long distance, you know 'full hog' rather than the sprinting, wham bam thank you mam type event. Enjoy walking, can ride horses and pretty damn keen on your water sports and have done a spot (just a spot) of snowboarding before now too. Pretty adaptable I like to think. I shall lie in wait of your exciting propositions!

So it is the weekend again then. Where are these weeks flying to? I used to love that feeling of the last day at school, six weeks of pure summer fun for all. Enjoy guys!

Just where does the time fly? It is my 21st birthday soon. Please feel free to bombard me with messages of congrats and happy, happy birthday's on Thursday 30th July!
It is amazing when you have a mooch around a few quotations, you know for a little bit of inspiration and topical find for the bloggers among us, how much they are neatly put 'together' expressing an individual persons opinion. Something so simple within a sentence can be loaded with that persons thought about that 'subject'. Does that make any sense?! I know what I am trying to say, yet it does often appear to not always come out they way I am wanting it to. Anyway, that is the topic. Discuss!
So as I am sure you can imagine, things here with Activity Wales at the moment are about all you adventure peeps booking up your summer activities. I do not blame you at all. There is just so much out there to choose from, whether it is something that you do every year...say like Surfing to whether it is a completely new experience that you want to grab by the horns and give it all you've got. Just when the boat is fixed the heavens open. Oh, I didn't tell you about that did I. Well here's a story...

Father's Day beckons and I had failed to find anything that I wanted to buy my Dad. That is apart from one of those hilarious cards that seem funny at the time of buying, but never seem as funny as they once had appeared when the person actually opens it. So hail a day full of 'Oh what to do'.

A bright light sparks and it is then and there arranged to head out onto the Estuary taking my Dad and Mart's Dad (along with the Mother's of course) for a spot of lunch down to Lawrenny Arms. Don't be so silly. How can something so incredibly simple turn into a pure disaster?

So there we are all smiles and glee, bobbing along the channel choking on a horrific cloud of black smoke appearing from the engine. Fair play though the oil seeping into the water presented us with a marvellous display of all the colours of the rainbow. Hmm, that's not meant to happen.

Turns out the turbo was burning the oil instead of using it?! I say that line with a little caution as it actually means nothing to me and so I am not 100% whether it is complete rubbish or not. But whatever the diagnosis our lunch date was cut short and we had to drive around instead.

So that is what I mean by my opening line. Typical!

I can't believe Jacko is dead. It is the first ever time that I have heard Chris Moyles speaking with such sincerity in his voice and genuine emotion on his Radion One breakfast show. Well done Moylesy you did well that morning. That is all my comment really. I can't think of much else to say without stating the obvious that every person in this world already knows...

He is and always will be THE King of Pop.

Russell Crowe Actually Eats!

Well you will never guess. The man himself Mr Russell Crowe descended on The Carew Inn last night whilst he is down in our beautiful Pembrokeshire filming the new Robyn Hood epic! After the initial OH MY GOD, I got to thinking..it's not really that unusual for him to be eating and drinking on his day off really is it? Well that's all I seem to do anyway - only difference being I wouldn't be seen footing a bill for £450 (that is only if I wasn't paying mind!)...

Oh yes they were absolutely amazing, simple as. I tell you something though, that Liam is one man gone bonkers - he is so eccentric it is actually quite hard to believe. For most of the evening he stood dressed in his long, green anorak (I know you would never have thought he was a millionaire or anything) balancing a tambourine on his head and nose. He looked like something out of the Saw movie. And bless old Noel in the background, he seems to be so humble compared to loopy fruit Liam in the front. It is quite funny actually because when Liam sings, Noel is his backing singer and plays the guitar, but then when all attention turns to Noel to bang out a tune poor old Liam has nothing to do. So, off he trots casually walking off the stage disappearing for half an hour leaving Noel to hold the fort. Classic. Noel singing Don't look back in Anger though was something that I will truly never forget - he had a tear in his eye too, very genuine.
And then came the Circus act that was Take That. They really did deliver one superb performance that was highly impressive.
I mean I do like the old stripped stage myself, you know singer/band standing on stage singing live - throwing a few naughty words around the place occasionally, actually playing an instrument with heartfelt emotion, that kind of thing. But I just can't say that I didn't enjoy Take That and their amazing set and show - it was fantastic.

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it!

Morning, morning and welcome another joyous day. I am very excited. I feel as though I am bubbling up inside and ready to burst like a tin of baked beans in a microwave! Oh, I tell you what I did do once (under the influence of my immature partner) - opened a tin of baked beans, stuck a firework inside and wham, bam thank you mam...baked beans all over my little red Metro's windscreen! Fantastic filming moment...

So yes, going back to the fact that I am very excited. I am only going to see the attitude in trousers otherwise known as the ace, the awesome OASIS tomorrow! Not only do we get those scruffy dudes on a stage nearby, they are throwing both The Enemy and Kasabian into the mix...talk about rocking the Millennium Stadium, the place will be buzzing! I am trying my best to contain my excitement and not think about it, but why does that always make it worse? The more you don't want to think about it the more you do. And the rock show doesn't end there ladies and gentleman, as next Wednesday the Stadium also presents Barlow and Co touring with their Circus. No wonder I am bouncing around the place.

'Natalie, your not getting paid this month,' Natalie replies: 'Haha, never mind not to worry...I'm still smiling like a Cheshire cat!'

That's all I wanted to tell you really, oh and that I got back in the saddle last night after around 2 years of walking on just the two legs for a change. It really is surprising though how much you still remember about Horse Riding, it's just like riding a bike and being an elephant, or an elephant riding a bike - never forget. I did enjoy myself and wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be, so I think I am going to be riding a little grey pony called Whizzard for a little while, you know just whilst I'm still young and all that. Why not...

I have come a cropper off the Wake board twice in the last 2 weeks now too, think I was getting a little bit too clever and head planted the water pretty sharp on both occasions. I have woken up with a sore head and neck for a few days now - but I'll never learn. To be honest, I don't think I'll be able to stand up straight if we headed out tonight, my legs will be shaking too much with all the excitement waiting to burst, so might just go for a beverage instead. Oh the decisions...

And boy isn't it blinking beautiful.

The sun is shining the skies are blue and I am trying my 100% best to entertain myself, keep myself and busy and pretend that it is tipping down with rain - but it just isn't working. How can I possibly convince myself it is dismal outside when everyone that is walking through the office doors today are wearing Dolce and Gabanna shades, bright blue flip flops and have a casual jumper tied around their necks to look really hip, cool and summery.

Hmm, I am not jealous at all.

Tomorrow, I am happy to announce with one big fat smile on my face that it is going to be a scorcher standing at 23 degrees and I will be catching the rays all day.

So recently my little home County of Pembrokeshire has had some attention paid to one of it's beautiful quaint villages for a very special reason. It has hit the Welsh news of late that pretty place, Solva has been left a staggering amount of money in the region of £400,000 from a 90 year old widow as a thank you for the welcome she had received once she had retired to the area.

Isn't that an extremely sweet, generous and thoughtful gesture? Seriously that there just makes me smile. My grin grew incredibly after also reading that Margaret left a sum of £3,000 to whoever agreed to looking after her ginger tom Brutus to save him being destroyed or going into a cattery. Now that is my kind of heartfelt woman. Thank you Margaret for reassuring me that genuine kindness still lives on amongst us in Pembrokeshire.

I did it. Wondering what I've done?

The Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk on Sunday 17th May - aren't you just so proud?! It has taken me until now to recover and sit down long enough (without my legs aching) to post an entry to you all...unfortunately though mum didn't make it.

After a few weeks on sick leave with a poorly back and then catching the FLU when her leave was just about to come to an end, mum didn't really feel it appropriate to then go ahead and walk 26 miles and jump with joy (if she still had the energy) when she reached the finish line! Going back to the FLU for a sec, I did say that she should have notified the Doctor's surgery that she had flu like symptoms and watch them all panic and put our house under quarantine! We had a giggle and then became mature again.

So, mum found herself playing taxi instead at 5 o'clock in the morning and packing the scrummy picnic for when her old faithful hubbie and daughter returned sore and aching after a morning stroll. God it rained though...the rain was lashing against my so-called waterproof jacket - god they are a con, you have to fork out hundreds to get a decent one I'm sure and the constant wind blowing a gale didn't help matters! Though in saying that it did come in handy, as when you were attacked by the rain...it then stopped and you were blow dried by the wind.

As we were walking graciously along dad pipes up noting that the heel of his left foot was starting to hurt, so we take a rest stop and off comes the shoe and sopping sock - absolutely soaking! Not much seems to be happening with the foot so on pops the shoe and sock and away we go. Haha, oh little did we know...

7 hours later we arrive at our destination which looked as though it was surrounded by a beaming bright golden cloud, or so it appeared through our worshiping glare, we were so happy to see Cresselly Cricket Club it felt blinking terrific! I thought mum was taking the mickey when she asked dad and I to walk back to the finish line to have a photo...oh how wrong was I, as if we hadn't walked enough we then had to then retrace our last few steps to fake a smile and look as though we were feeling on top of the world after a 26 mile 'stroll'!

And the fun just didn't stop there...off come the shoes and socks and dad revealing his corns and bunions (only joking) and reveals something rather nasty.

Dad had complained that the heel on his right foot had been hurting - correct?

Hmm, well he failed to mention that the underneath of his left foot had rapidly begun to peel away. He didn't feel the need to let me know this as he felt that if he had removed his shoe and sock off his left foot instead of his right that he would have been so repulsed by the sight that he wouldn't have possibly been able to carry on any further. He most definitely made the right decision to keep stum.

You know when I sock gets wet and sometimes gathers at your toes in one big clump? Well that's what my dads skin had managed to do. All skin clumped together revealing complete bare raw and bleeding skin on the underneath of his foot - Urggh. Being a postman walking around 13 miles a day, he thought it best to leave off work for a few days and stand in a bowl of salt water instead - I think again he made the right decision!

I am glad we did it though and think that I could well be (along with mum) in the queue for next year!

Can anyone hear that trumpet, or is it just me?!

Afternoon all...I don't know about you, but I am hearing a rather loud trumpet sound ringing in my ears constantly, it started yesterday morning and I just can't seem to shake it! Thinking on it, trumpet's don't actually ring do they? I suppose they just trump...

Ok, I am sorry but all this trumpet malarky is just a bit too much and I must pack it in really as you lot haven't got a clue what I am banging on about. Excuse me for my ignorance, but I will now let you all in on a small secret, I've been told I must.

Yesterday was a glorious day for me, though I do think I generally feel that every day is glorious and new, but Monday 11th May was just simply extra glorious.

I am now to share a letter with you, which you can choose to read if you really want to, or you can just skip and move on and discover another website to entertain you when you are supposed to be working! Let me clear my throat and begin...

I've now hit the exact same predicament that I found myself in after reading this yesterday morning for the first time. I have nothing to say! Well I do, I just don't really know what to say...enjoy this moment guys, it doesn't happen very often!

I am extremely overjoyed that Mark took the time to write to Activity Wales and comment as he did, it certainly brightened up my day and I am sure his kind words will continue to do so for a very long time! Thank you Mark!

Pembrokeshire Wizardry and Medieval Mischief

By golly will Pembrokeshire well and truly be marked with one massive, big red flag after proudly playing host to not one, but TWO massive movie blockbusters! The pride of being a Pembrokeshire dragon born and bred has never been so roaring until recent confirmation that our Pembrokeshire coast will definitely turn proud anchor to both the new Harry Potter movie and the Robin Hood epic. Spiffing!

I always knew that Freshwater West beach was one of Pembrokeshire's greatest sandy retreats, with soft chunky sand dunes, bright blue seas and intriguing rock pools, so I feel very glad that the fabulous coastal setting has finally been given such honorable recognition with the bay featuring as the magnificent surroundings for ''Shell Cottage'' in the new movie, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' which will help bring much loved characters handsome Harry, Ron and Hermione to life in Pembrokeshire. Filming awakens between 11th and 15th May.

Just a little Hello really...

Feels like I haven't been in touch for a little while now, in truth the Easter break bookings had my undivided attention and so I'm afraid that you lot got shifted to the back seat. I do like being a busy little bee though, it makes you feel like you have achieved something with your day you know, served a purpose type of thing.

Gosh I am sleeping lately though, I think it may have something to do with my intense training for the Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk in May. Every Saturday and Sunday, no time for a lie in as I jump with joy out of my warm, cosy bed at 7 on the dot...wash, change, breakfast out of the door with my pooch by half past! I am up to walking around 18 miles twice a week at the moment with the odd 6 thrown in during the middle of the week, though I am thinking that I need to start increasing that slightly now by an extra few miles. I am walking 26 miles on Sunday 17th May and so I don't think I am doing to badly really, though I am getting a little bit worried about mum though. My mum is the reason I am doing it in a way, thought I would keep her company whilst out walking and things you know, however she is having a little trouble with her back recently which is preventing her from training. Hopefully all should be better by the weekend perhaps, so next week we can get cracking. I do highly recommend walking as a cheap, enjoyable and strangely relaxing activity, that to me would beat slogging in the gym any day!

Well what terrific weather shone on the UK over Easter, wasn't it glorious?! My freckles burst with energy as the rays beamed down and finally I have collected a little colour on my cheeks! First time for us in the water this year too over the weekend just passed. The trouble is though, because the boat goes into hibernation out of the way of the winter chill, you try to jam pack as much Wake boarding into the summer months as you can to get you looking as though you know what you are doing. But by the time you trudge through the winter and the spring knocks on the door again you have forgotten how to stand up! Ok, so that may be a slight exaggeration, but not by much!

To me personally, I think that getting on your cossie and plunging into the depths is a fantastic feeling, I do appreciate that wonderful water doesn't appeal to everyone though, but for those that are keen on getting to grips with water sports, I pledge that you should really get your adrenalin juices flowing this season. Coasteering has got to be on the top of your list, action packed and suitable for all ages and abilities, exploring the crooks and crannies of the limestone cliffs and taking the leap into the blue waters below. Kite surfing is another top class sport combining the thrill of the wash and determined control of the kite, this is a popular sport gradually sweeping our beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast.

I really do hope that this marvellous weather continues well into the summer, I was informed actually by Gemma who works with Activity Wales in our South County office in Tenby, that if the birds nests are high in the branches then we are heading for some rather warm weather - so I find myself now studying each tree to see whats occurring! Not so good if the cows are lying down though...

Marvellous Mother and Giant Easter Bunnies...

Oh my golly gosh have you heard that The Michael (slightly weird) Jackson is back in town?! ''Hee-Hee, Ooo! Go on girl, Aaow, Hee! Hey pretty baby with the high heels on...'' Come on you know the words! Jacko here I come...

I think it is about time that some clever toffee nose invented a 'Darling Daughter Day' where by the many around shower her with gifts of Frankincense and Mere. Either that or Jordan's, (oops sorry that is meant to be the innocent Katie Price) latest fragrance, 'I'm Terrific' with an overpowering scent of more money. I know let me pull my claws in, I'm only jealous.

I suppose us daughter's shouldn't complain, last night being a prime example. My dinner of fat free Super Noodles (Sweet Thai Chili) just didn't make my mouth water so much so that I dribbled a little or filled the dark empty hole I like to call a stomach, and so the food police start ringing. At the moment I am loving the odd Fajita, packed with crispy, fresh salad, grated cheese and hot, spicy salsa and so being in the dilemma I was in yesterday this would be the perfect fix.

'Mum?'

'Yes Natalie' mum replied.

'Have we yummy food at home to make Fajitas?'

'Hmm, no I don't think so. Why?

'Well I quite fancy them for tea tonight.' (I hinted).

'Oh do you now?! I'll pop to Tesco and pick up some things up then shall I?'

'Well, only if you don't mind...'

What a darl hey?! And that is the reason (not the only one mind) why my mum deserves a day off from ironing my work shirts, washing my socks, polishing my room, hoovering my carpets, cooking my tea, picking me up from the pub...

Fear not friends I am ONLY JOKING! I 'll give mum at least 2 days rest...

Snowing in Switzerland...

Unfortunately no, I am not tucked away in the snowy mountains wearing nothing but my goggles, thermals and my bright blue woolly hat...but I know some lucky b..person who is. Oli 'Everest' Tuggey who is a pirate with Big Blue Kite surfing, is taking a break from the wild waters of Newgale to instruct a number of dare devils Snow Kiting on the snowy white pistes of Switzerland.

I headed off to Andorra last February but were a tad unfortunate with the snow fall, by the end of our stay the majority of the snow had turned to nasty icy ice. Typically, pretty much as soon as we left you can imagine what happened. Nothing but consistent snow fall covering the mountains in one big cuddly blanket of snow. From reading the 'Big Blue Experience Blog' it seems that the drifts on the side of the road with them are reaching clumps of 15ft, so I think that is kind of satisfactory don't you think?

Aside from enjoying the snow during the winter, Oli and the big Blue Team are busy bees teaching a number of people to Kite Surf, Kite Board, Wake Board, Paddle Board, Power Kite and charge along the shores on a bright yellow Zap Cat. Fancy your chances?!

As I mentioned the Wake Board in the middle of that sentence, I suddenly turned my thoughts to when Mart and I are going to get our boat out of the shed, give it a sprinkle of clean, shiny stuff and hit the Cleddau waters. I cannot wait, it is officially the season...soon! How so very exciting, early morning boarding, late night boarding, all day boarding, it is such a blast. Actually, I set you all a challenge there...get your wetsuit out of the cupboard, dust off the cob webs and let's get boarding! You seriously will regret nothing...

So back to the Everest, I sure you all are anyway, but keep enjoying your time in Switzerland and we shall welcome you back with typical Pembrokeshire weather of grey skies, heavy raindrops but bright blue seas and plentiful jellyfish...See you in April!

Big Hearts and Massive Kisses

After having scrambled through the long winded month we like to call January, full of empty pockets, dark mornings and the thought of having to wait ages for the next Christmas get together with friends and family, the thought of February makes me smile.

Nope, it's not my birthday, my wedding, neither am I having a baby or packing my bags to go to a warm, sunny country on holiday. It is a lot more simple than that guys, I love the loving feeling of Valentine's Day and the 'full' feeling after eating a mountain of pancakes sprinkled in lemon juice, raisins and sugar. I know that has probably sparked a thought in your head to when Pancake Day is upon this year, Shrove Tuesday. Only joking, Tuesday 24th February 2009.

Just to mention quickly, I haven't done a step of training to gear me up for my marathon walk as yet, as far as I can walk is from the car to the chippie. Large chips, buttered roll and a cheese and onion pasty. I have bought a brand new pair of walking trainers though, they just haven't yet made it out of the box! They look so clean...

Anyway, what are you and your loved one doing this Valentine's? Same old 'traditional' evening meal on the menu? Actually, in thinking about this I can imagine that the whole of Wales will be glued to their TV screens next Saturday won't they? I for one will be with Martin sat right next to me, beer in hand! It's Wales beating England in the Six Nations silly. I don't know you just can't help some people can you!

Dawn Walk

A few days ago I set a challenge to myself to join my mum and dad in partaking in the Dawn Walk, Pembrokeshire to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research. A couple of days on and I am beginning to wonder whether training for a 26 mile walk is a little too adventurous!

I used (and I stress that word greatly) to be a relatively fit kind of person, riding two horses pretty much everyday of the week, with the riding came the mucking out, carrying the hay bales, the large water buckets, walking to the field to round them up and now I do absolutely nothing, diddly squat. So there you have my problem, I cannot begin to imagine where I start to be honest!

Martin (my partner), is being very reluctant in joining us at the moment, I think the damage it would do to his regular drinking schedule is more than my life is worth. So, I am zipping my trap and hoping that when he sees my figure taking shape and my glowing skin (I will hide the rather disgusting foot sores), that he will not think twice about jumping on the wagon and making our team complete.

At this point I would just like to add that if anybody out there has any advice whatsoever about how I begin devising my training session, your knowledge and fine wisdom would be greatly received! In other words don't hold back...!

I was debating whether to let my mum and dad be the brave candidates and take a back seat by joining them half way at the 13 mile point, but I did think that would just be a little bit lazy. If I am going to do this then I might as well go the whole hog, right? You can though take that option if you don't fancy the 26 mile slog, I think either goal is fair play.

The date is set for Sunday 17th May 2009 and will begin at 06.00am sharp. I can't understand why on earth such a time has been invented, but I suppose that is the whole point of the title, 'Dawn Walk' really isn't it, so if you began at say 09.00am you may have to revert to the 'Mid Morning Walk' instead. But let's not get into all that jazz and concentrate on the cause behind sores. See what I did there?!

Macmillan Cancer Support is an outstanding charity that doesn't need any other explanation than what it says on the surface. They provide great support for those who live affected by cancer, along with their families, friends and carers. I would also like just to mention that they have set themselves one mighty impressive mission, in that their primary goal for 2010 is to reach and and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer. Good luck!

When I hear that goal and then turn the attention to my own goal in being able to somehow walk 26 miles in a few months from now, I have to say that my goal does sound a lot more possible than I once thought.

That is why I am going to train hard, drink water and only have a bag of chips once a week and complete that Dawn Walk of 2009! I will most definitely keep you posted during my progression to fit bird!

Business is Ballooning!

I am delighted to be shouting from the rooftops that business is absolutely booming at present an long may it continue right the way through the year! It's great when the phone doesn't stop ringing and you walk through the door at 9 and it feels like 10 minutes later you are walking right back through at 5! Not only does the constant bustle and talking make the day pass right on by, it also let's our team know that we must be doing something right and that is a bigger incentive than most.

I suppose when you think about it though, the morning is a pleasant, peaceful time of the day, when the cows are yawning and the cockerel is squawking funny noises and so I think I would probably make an effort to get out of my cosy bed for this ballooning experience.

Here we are having a spent a ridiculous amount of pennies over the Christmas and New Year season wondering whether 2009 will bring tremendous quantities of full-bellied laughter or tears. Let's hope for the sake of everyone around us that it is certainly NOT the latter. Though I suppose we could be talking tears from way too much laughter! I didn't think of that.
Well I just thought that I would entertain you all as there is nothing like starting the New Year with laughter, and plenty of it. Please find to follow a few quotes...

The proper behavior all through the holiday season is to be drunk. This drunkenness culminates on New Year's Eve, when you get so drunk you kiss the person you're married to.

I have made absolutely no New Year resolutions at all, full stop. Why, because what is the point when I know fine well that I am going to break them. By saying 'I am not going to eat chocolate' makes you think of chocolate and so you will want to eat twice as much than you would have before because you know that it is really naughty and you shouldn't be eating it. Sound Familiar? Actually I have started this New Year by telling you all a fib. I did make one, to get on a four legged beast with large nostrils and a tail. No, not a frog a horse, really I miss horse riding. So yes that is my resolution. I am going to get back up on a horse, I didn't have a bad experience or anything, I used to be pretty good and own 2 of my own, but due to 'growing up' and having to take responsibility for my self and actually get a job meant that I no longer really had much time for them disappointingly. Have you made any? If not I can give you a few to choose from...

Christmas has been and gone again!

Just when we all get geared up for the jolly festive season, wrapping our gifts for the family, stocking up on plenty of beer and choccies, Christmas has been and gone again by the time we can say Santa Claus. All that remains is a pot belly, a hole in our pockets and empty chocolate wrappers!

I can sort of understand why people like to start Christmas back in October, it gives the sparkling season that extra little bit of shelf life doesn't it? But then on the other hand, if you keep all your Christmas fever bottled up inside until around 2 weeks before Christmas, you will be bursting into Christmas tunes such as 'I wish it could be Christmas Everyday' dancing around in circles, whilst everyone else is sat with their head in their hands because their Christmas presents are wrapped, wine is chilling and the Turkey is stuffed and in the oven!

I do hope that you all enjoyed your Christmas however you chose to celebrate, mine has always been a family affair and I couldn't imagine it any other way. I couldn't believe it on Christmas Eve mind, we had a take out from the Indian in town and they were fully booked for Christmas dinner. Now call me old fashioned but an Indian spread on Christmas Day?! Shame it was full I could have booked for 11! Only to save my poor mum cooking and dad from peeling the sprouts though.

This year was rather sad for me really, mum had to break a little news to me in that this was the last year I was to gratefully receive a stocking. Being 21 in July 2009 meant that I am soon going to become an adult. Wake up and smell the coffee...

I suppose that Christmas is for the children really isn't it? Of course I know that, I just can't imagine not being one anymore! Seriously though, seeing my little nephews and niece opening their mountains of presents on Christmas afternoon was lovely, children simply make Christmas, it is a time of great joy and anticipation for children of all ages I believe.

But here we are, on New Years Eve ready and waiting to welcome a brand new year. I wonder what this year will bring for us all? I know something for certain, come Easter our phones will be ringing with people wanting to redeem their Christmas Gift Vouchers! I say Easter, but it could be much before that as many activities do run all year round. 2 Days After the Night Before...

Here I am, bright eyed and bushy tailed working on Saturday 20th December, the weekend before Christmas after having one fantastic night sleep. Quite frankly I really couldn't be feeling much better, which is a large step up from the feeling around the office yesterday.

Including myself, the majority of the peeps were just a little tired rather than spaced out and blurry eyed, having consumed a large quantity of alcohol. Well, actually there was an exception to that rule wasn't there Flaming Hot Monster Munch? Or should I say, Amy (as in Winehouse)? Now if you are keen reader's of this Activity Wales blog then you will completely, 100% understand the reference to 'Flaming Hot Monster Munch'. If you haven't got a clue, then you really do need to start reading this blog a lot more!

I really do have to say how lovely everyone looked at our staff Christmas party on Thursday, again if you didn't even know that we were having a Christmas party READ more often other wise I'll begin to think that I am typing to myself all the time! Seriously though, everyone really did make an effort and I just wish that they all continue to do so during day to day work life, we are such a handsome bunch of people!

Sorry company poacher's we belong to the 'Chief' of Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire and Activity Wales and are not up for auction.

I know the question that you are all craving to ask, 'Did my heels hold up?' Well I am extremely proud to reveal that my dancing shoes were on until around midnight, approximately 3 hours of dancing. Pretty impressive hey? I was down and grooving and I certainly was not the only one. Our team, for the majority of the dancing evening spread across half of the dance floor shaking our hips, throwing our hair and kicking our legs. If you think our unique moves sound awkward and challenging, just try and master them, it is not for everyone!

I am only joking about the wayward moves really, if I am being truthful I have to confess that we all (including the handful of guys), for a number of weeks now have been rehearsing the Macarena, Thriller and The Casper Slide! I tell you what mind, shaking my booty for hours on end definitely put my fitness levels into perspective, I have none! How unfit am I? You know the phrase, 'Sweating like a Pig?' Hmm...

Food was gorgeous and there was plenty of it for all, washed down with bottles of Red and White wine which set us up for anything. Well, you kind of already know that after reading about the dance moves that were displayed!

It is lovely to mingle with your work crowd and have a laugh and a joke with them, it is just a shame that you realise what you let slip the morning after and sink into a pit of regret! I am not speaking from experience or anything, I just watch too many movies! 'I can't believe I said that...!'

The other worrying aspect of a fantastic night out is when you walk into work the next morning and you witness a few whispers, a little chuckle and suddenly every starts busting your 'Sex Bomb' moves on the tables! I am just lucky that Build Me Up Buttercup never reached the CD player!

Bed came for me and Mart at around 2ish, but there were still a few dirty stop outs lingering like a bad smell until a little time after that I believe. By that time, you can begin to see the bar guys glaring at the very last crowd that they need to get rid of so that they can pack up and go home, wiping the same beer glass for round 10 minutes! I'm only joking, the service was excellent all night long.

All I feel that is left to be said now, is a big, italic THANK YOU for a great evening, and let's gear up to do it all again next year!

Party Poopers Not Welcome!

I feel that I can officially mention CHRISTMAS without now feeling that it is either too early or receive a vibe from those around me that I am banging on about the festive celebrations a little too often. If you have not yet managed to finish your Christmas shopping then all that is left to say is...unlucky.

Now then , I really do not want to offend anyone out there by mentioning our Christmas Party (oops), especially if you are working at Woolworth's at present (but not for much longer) as I appreciate it may be somewhat of a sore point for many with the current climate etc.

But hey now, let's not ponder on that too much and move on to have a little chat about THE night of the year tonight, where Activity Wales and sister company Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire get together, all spruced up in our gowns and suits, pushing the computer's aside and get down to a little boogie and a few (quiet) drinks!

This is rather exciting for me as I have not yet attended a Christmas Party with the company, having only been here since January this year. Which means that on January 2nd the office is sure to be filled with cakes, pop and pringles and party poppers to celebrate my 12 month working spell. Either that or my P45!

I have been informed by an insider known only by 'Saint Nikoclaus' to watch out for a few individuals dancing on tables and the like, and not to name any names that could put 'Saint Nikoclaus' in danger by any means, I shall call them Linda, Alison and Mrs C, all members of the Accounts department. I do hope that is not too much information revealed Nikoclaus.

Once I have wrapped up my working day at 16.30, I shall race home (sticking to all of the speed limits along the way), shower, change and wallah! Princess Natter's has been born. I am slightly worried however that my 12cm heel will prove to be a little to daring by say around 20.00 (it starts at 19.30) and I shall be riddled with blisters and walking like a penguin. But I am sure I won't be the only one.

I hear you all bellowing 'But where does this triumphant mound of festivities take place Princess?' so I will oblige in revealing, The Wolfscastle Country Hotel otherwise known as Allt-yr-Afon. I have attended the Hotel in previous years for Wedding functions and may I say the food is absolutely fabulous, to die for, exquisite! To make way for my 3 course Dinner this evening, consisting of Leek and Potato soup ( I know, an old favourite), Butternut Squash and Raspberry Cheesecake, I have only brought along tomato soup and a yogurt for dinner so not to spoil my appetite.

I can feel in my waters that tonight we will have among us famous faces such as Cinderella (before and after), her Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming and a Frog. I do believe Shrek could make an appearance depending on what sort of day it's been. Of course I am only joking, just preparing everyone for this joyous occasion, with smiles all round and a sprightly skip in their step.

Last thought, I am thinking we should play that irritating game where you all write down a famous person or something, swap within the group, stick it on your forehead and you have to sit there like a silly person while you ask random questions about who you could possible be amongst the laughter of those around you. It's an idea I will bear in mind.

Tank Time!

Well well. Just when I thought Activity Wales couldn't get any better they go and launch a fantastic new provider offering thrilling Tank Days in Monmouthshire. Beat that hey!

Many of you I'm sure are now reminiscing of your days playing 'Tank Wars' back in the nineties, firing at opponent tanks and producing threatening dirt bombs for extra defence. How do I know? I have a grand father, father and brother.

So now that you are ecstatically over the moon that Activity Wales can bring you Coca Cola's 'the real thing', I would like to quote,

I agree, what a slogan.

And while we are on the subject, you know that Coca Cola Christmas advert that visits our television screens as we near the festive season where they advertise Coca Cola in glass bottles? Well, I just wanted to say that I like it very much. It makes you feel that extra little bit festive. No, I am not going mad because my partners mum thinks so too, anybody else agree?!

So, getting over the first 'random' thought for today, I shall now head back to reporting what I am meant to be, Tank School. It is fabulous, a must do and see for all, book here at Activity Wales. Finished. I am only pulling your string...

Tank School offer a number of exhilarating experience days ranging from 'Car Splat' which involves pretty much what it says on the tin. You pick a 'banger' (without the mash) that is a pathetic excuse of four wheels and watch in angst as right before your eyes it becomes crushed by a 42-tonne Russian battle tank! Just a thought, I wonder if you could do it Top Gear style and bring along the family caravan?

Along with the hilarious 'Car Splat' you and a group of mates can enjoy either a half or full day tank driving experience, learning to drive across rough terrain and woodland.

Tank School can offer a unique experience for corporate and team building events, intriguingly entitled 'Tank Combat'. Perfect for leadership and teamwork as you will be asked to follow important instructions in order to complete your mega mission.

I do believe this is on to be a real winner for those wanting an unusual company challenge, and think of it this way; present your chief with your fantastic idea of 'Tank Combat' and your 'mega mission', and if your hyped tone of voice, enthusiastic hand gestures and tank firing impressions don't quite swing it, just slip in that also included is lunch for all, refreshments and a winners presentation. You are sure then to have it in the bag.

In researching this tremendous, tantalizing tank torment I can't help but feel a bit 'ladish' for appearing to be a little excited and 'up for it' so to speak. But when you weigh the thought of painting your toe nails pink against squashing a car with a gigantic tank, I have to admit that the latter sounds so much more appealing doesn't it?! Any other girls (or guys) agree?

Activity Wales Christmas Grotto!

Ho Ho Ho! Please do ignore the large image to the right hand side of the screen, I am only joking!

You know back in September when you all thought that I was barking mad for mentioning 'Christmas' just that teeny weeny little bit too early?

Well I hate to tell you guys, oh no don't worry, I am not springing the fact that you have skipped a few doors on your advent calender and you have awoken on Christmas morning, no no, just that here we are, the beginning of December and there are Christmas decorations and sparkling lights everywhere you blink! It can surely mean only one thing. That people are even crazier than last year and feel the need to pop up their dec's before the rest of the world, winning their imaginary award for being the first household to display their dedication and love of the festive season back in August. Okay, slight exaggeration there. Well in thinking about this not really, because my next door neighbour was singing Christmas carols on August Bank Holiday Monday whilst the Barbecue was cooking. Yes, I have been worried about her for a while now.

I do love Christmas as much as the next person, but in my opinion, I do think Christmas does kick in that little bit too early. It's like you go into a local shop to buy a bucket and spade in the Summer and come out with a Christmas Tree, flashing lights and a fairy! I don't know, maybe I am just not quite 'with it'. After all, I am twenty years old now.

Now I just thought that you may all be a little be stressed with the lead up to Christmas, with spending money on pressies and chocolates for the tree and such like, so I found a few little jokes that may cause you to remain sour faced or make you chuckle, (let's hope for the latter!):

Q: What happened when the snow woman got angry with the snowman?

A. Freeze a jolly good fellow . . . (I have to admit I did have a right little chuckle at that one! I know, small things...)

Santa Claus Conundrum:
The 3 stages of man:
1) He believes in Santa Claus. 2) He doesn't believe in Santa Claus. 3) He is Santa Claus.

I knew it, they work every time! Go on say it, you are now presenting your sparkling whites through a beaming smile, your bouncing up and down in your chair with tears in your eyes! But please, by all means feel free to post your own Christmas crackers in the 'comment' section if you think that you can do better than those beauties!

I chose my title, 'Activity Wales Christmas Grotto' for this festive season entry because I like to think that here at Activity Wales we have a similar 9-5 working Grotto just like good old Santa Claus. The only difference being of course that ours is actually real and not mythological. In Santa Claus mythology the Grotto is a complex located in the North Pole, and I would just like to mention here that the North Pole was considered as a location for Activity Wales.

Unfortunately, the conclusion was made that myself, Fran, Leanne and Gem would spend far to much time playing with the Polar Bears. I couldn't really see the problem myself, we do get time for lunch so we could pop out then, I guess we couldn't really convince the Chief that we would return. So, on that conclusion we did settle for Pembrokeshire. It is like a home from home really as we have Reindeer at Folly Farm.

Seriously though, I am talking to you today to present you with the answer to all your Christmas shopping worries. Our Experience Day Gift Vouchers are an ideal Christmas present for the many variations in your family, from bingo fanatic Nanny Dot to wacky Cousin Drew. Come on, everyone has their own list of the top ten things they would like to do before they hit the end of the road, and you never know, we may have a least one of them that you can tick off the list!

Roll Up Roll Up, Let's All Join The Circus!

I bet nobody realised that back home in our unsuspecting office in Pembrokeshire, Activity Wales and sister company Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire were hiding away some of Wales' most talented members of society.

I kid you not, make way for your favourite, old familiar circus tricks with a twist, as I bring you the few exceptions to our sophisticated team behind Activity Wales and Coastal, 'The Welsh Wonders', Sarah W, Linda, Alison and the man who cannot be named as he is simply far too famous to mention and his secret identity simply cannot be revealed for security purposes. I do believe he considers his identity to be as precious as The Stig on Top Gear, though he does refuse to dress up in a silly white get up as it does not justify his manly physique. You know who you are.

Let us first turn our attention to our valued older member of the team Linda, aka 'Lady Dog'. Pretty much does as it says on the tin, in her spare time Lady Dog is keen to impress by learning a number of dog tricks, to name but a few, giving her paw, playing the 'paw' guitar, and 'barking' to her favourite tune, 'Who let the Dogs Out' by the Baha Men. The irony of the story is, that Lady Dog is taught by none other then her very own pooch Peggy Sue.

Peeping in to be revealed secondly is shall we say, our middle of the road member of the team Alison, aka 'Hopping Biscuit.' Hopping Biscuit enjoys nothing more than munching on one of her favourite biccie's, an orange tangy Jaffa Cake whilst hopping on one leg. I am guessing as Hopping biscuit is right handed, that asking her to hop on her left leg is probably the funniest and most entertaining. This circus phenomenon may sound a little simple, but please feel free to try it, not as simple as it first sounded is it?!

To have a little break from the wondrous talents for a second, a researched the meaning of the word Circus for us all to understand and appreciate the true meaning.

'The word (circus) also describes the performance that they give, which is usually a series of acts that are choreographed to music.'

How interesting. So I thought I would add a little spice to their individual stories, and enhance their expertise ever so slightly and assign a song for each person, to suit each character and reflect their abilities.

For the two I have already mentioned, I thought that I just had to stick to 'Who Let the Dogs Out' for Linda, and considered the 'Fast Food Song' by the Fast Food Rockers for Hopping Biscuit? You know, to keep it food related, 'A Pizza Hut a Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut, McDonald's...' yes I shall stop there.

So to carry on, I shall now reveal the sensation of Sarah W, aka 'Flaming Hot Monster Munch'. Now, Monster Munch (for short) has not only one tremendous talent up her sleeve but two. Firstly, one morning when the birds were chirping and the sun was shining, Monster Munch was practicing her amazing abilities of being able to juggle better than any Clown you would have ever seen. I can so confidently assure you that that Monster is simply greater than any clown because Monster Munch finds no need to use boring tools such as juggling balls. Oh no, Monster can juggle any food on the plate, with her speciality being that in the shape of a baseball, an orange and a banana ladies and gentleman!

Secondly, Flaming Hot Monster Munch practices her next gift religiously every morning before work, revealing her true dedication to her circus trick talent, in the shape of 'Flaming Zambuca'. I really should only touch on this trick lightly as it is only something a few of us (over 18) can relate to and requires a a strong minded individual to pull this trick off professionally. Please do not try this at home and leave it to our expert Flaming Hot Monster Munch. It really is an art and Monster is so close to perfecting it. Good Luck!

With the recent re-launch of Take That, I felt 'Relight My Fire' most appropriate, I hope you all agree.

Last but by no means least, the man who cannot be named, aka 'Rocket Boy.' I am pretty sure at this point your cogs are turning and you can put two and two together on this one. But for those who may not have yet realised, Rocket Boy is the unlucky one that is placed comfortably in a cannon (with a pillow of course), before shooting into space returning with a sore bottom, frazzled hair and steaming ears. It is a tough job but someone just has to do it, and Rocket Boy during the fair allocation of tricks, drew the short straw fair and square. On a more positive note, I do believe that Rocket Boy has been assigned the best song yet, 'Space Cowboy' by the one and only Jamiroquai.

And yes, I do have a valid reason for blabbering on yet again about random happenings, and it is all to do with a brand new provider with us at Activity Wales Inhouse Entertainments. Based in Swansea, Inhouse Entertainments offer two different types of events, both Experience and Team Building Days.

Well here I am live and kicking with a few suspicious bruises on my feet and toes. I bet you are all now thinking that I am going to start revealing some kind of hilarious story about how I got them, but sorry to disappoint, I haven't got a clue!

I am sure that you are all on the edge of your seats whether at work, school or at home awaiting my revelation of my secret weekend, so I best crack on and start typing!

It all started on a crisp Friday Morning, the sun was slightly shining, the kettle boiled and excitement rife. I presented Martin with a spotty brown box tied with a pretty pink bow and dangling ribbon. He still didn't have a clue where I was whisking him off to, only that he best make sure that he packed his wetsuit and a nice warm jacket.

Not being one with a great sense of direction, I managed to direct him as far as Carew roundabout (about 5 minutes drive from my house) then I went blank and thought it was best he pulled over in a lay by, find out where we were going and let him fathom the way to go!

Drum roll please...cue voice over guy to reveal...Llangollen, North Wales!

If any of you have ever been to visit Llangollen, you would have witnessed the outstanding beauty of the mountainous surroundings in which it possesses, or are aware of it being host to the popular International Music Eisteddfod each year.

As I have previously mentioned in my 'Autumn is in the Air...Soon' entry, I love the Autumn season, full of golden yellows and burnt oranges, racy reds, chocolate browns and falling leaves. Llangollen appeared to have been flushed with riots of colour all around and was extremely attractive, especially looking out over the Dee valley from the famous Horseshoe Pass.

The main reason for taking a road trip to Llangollen in particular, was not only the superb countryside and humble nature of the people who live there, but to experience the refreshing chill of the River Dee with a spot of White Water Rafting. It was quite surprising how much attention the River was still recieving at this crisp time if the year from locals and visitors alike, whether it be making the most of the Autumn photo oppurtunities, Kayaking, Rafting or Survival Courses on offer.

We were booked to partake in the White Water Rafting on the Saturday morning, and so having arrived at around 16.00 on the Friday, we felt a shower, a few drinks and a hot meal was called for to brace ourselves for the action to follow the next morning.

It was really funny actually because the same weekend that I had decided to go away, my Nan and Grandad had booked for a leisurely holiday too, just down the road!

I had booked for The Wild Pheasant Hotel with Champagne on arrival (I know get me hey!), and my Nan and Grandad had booked themselves into The Chainbridge Hotel only a stones throw from us! It was hilarious as I didn't tell them that we were going and so we just had to surprise them. Thier faces were a picture when we knocked on their room, I do hope they weren't disapointed that we interrupted them watching Countdown!

Anyway, that evening we ordered a Taxi into town, an absolute bargain at a mere £3.00! In chatting with the lady driver we discovered that Gales Wine Bar in town was rather interesting for a large glass of wine and some tasty grub. Taking her kind advice, we headed there and discovered what a pleasant, quaint little place it really was. The roaring fire was blazing and we enjoyed a warm bowl of Autumn Vegetable soup and a large helping of White Wine.

Wake up, rise and shine to a slightly grey, rainy morning, perfect for tumbling down the river in an inflatable raft!

Again only two minutes away from The Wild Pheasant is home to JJ Canoeing and Rafting (White Water Active) alongside the magnificent River Dee. We were pleasantly greeted by all, where we were to declare any medical conditions that they should be made aware of before we got kitted up in our wetsuits, helmets, waterproof jacket and buoyancy aid, all kindly provided by the centre for all participants.

Once kitted up and rearing to go we recieved an introduction by our leader Josh, in how to best handle the raft and paddle, sit down and how best to store your feet! Maybe my enthusiasm for stuffing my feet as hard as I could down the side of the raft was the cause of the strange bruises on my feet, just a thought!

I tell you something though, you really have to be careful swinging your paddle around. Josh was saying how a fellow colleague of his was 'accidently' caught on the receiving end of a flying t-piece, resulting in a broken jaw! Ouch.

Heading for the River, we carried our raft together and plonked it into the water, jumping on and taking our positions. I think Mart and I had drawn the short straw at the beginning opting for the front of the raft, but I reckon it was the best place to be myself, staring the adrenalin square in the face. We did though at times swap around so everyone was able to enjoy the thrill of the front and have a refreshing wash every now and again!

It really was so much fun, 'surfing' in the swell and capsizing. Yes, that is correct, the raft decided to turn upside down with us all underneath. Personally, I don't think it was my fault for eagerly grabbing onto the rope concluding with the raft turning upside down, but everybody seemed to be glaring at me as we scrambled to the bank, so I took the hint!! Clearly, at all times you have your qualified instructor on board with you, and a number of guys floating around in Kayaks to ensure your safety.

I was rather glad of one guy in the Kayak as he saved me from drifting down stream at one point. I thought I was on my way to waving to my Nan and Grandad in the window of The Chainbridge half way up the River! What a scream.

There we all were, out of the raft, laying down in the water one by one and allowing ourselves to let the current take us slightly downsteam, through the wash and then swimming safely to the bank. But no, not Natalie. I started off as supposed, until I realised that my bum was a little to low in the River and discovered the shape of a rather large stone hidden under the water. As I bumped the stone, I automatically reacted by grabbing my sore spot with my hand, resulting in me forgetting to hold my nose as I went under the water with the swish, getting a mouthful of water and missing my cue to start swimming. I thought something was wrong when Martin looked the size of an ant, waving his arms frantically for me to start swimming, I thought I was! I failed to grab the rope that was practically handed to me on a plate in front of my nose and was still floating along enjoying the scenery.

But just when I thought my knight in shining armour had forgotten me, I looked up and paddling towards me in a brightly coloured Kayak was he. I took hold of the handle on the front of the Kayak, hooked my legs around and off I went to find my feet on the bank. Phew. For a second I thought a croc was going to slyly appear from behind the rock like they did with Jack Osbourne! But fear not, I don't think Llangollen has got anything scarier than a black sheep or two.

I really do recommend this experience to everyone and anyone. I'm sure there was a little fella of around 12 years old having a bash, so what are you waiting for?! Okay, it may be a little chilly and the wetsuit may reveal a few unwanted lumps and bumps, but the joy and laughter out weighs them all. Trust me.

My Last Day...

Today is my last day.

Now I know what you all are thinking, that I am leaving the team at Activity Wales and fleeing to America to pursue a successful singing career led by the super gentlemen that is Simon Cowell. But, do not worry, panic or shed a tear, as you are wrong, and I am only off for the weekend to a secret destination.

The reason for it being secret and therefore why I cannot identify the location, is due to me being a terrific partner and whisking Martin off for his 30Th birthday celebrations, and that he is likely to read this at some point before we leave. As I have managed to keep this to myself and a very additional few others since the end of August, I would find it rather devastating if I gave the game away now. I must simply keep my trap shut and stay tight lipped for a little while longer, which for those who know me and work with me daily appreciate how hard this has been for me.

So, why am I pointlessly writing and telling you all something that I cannot tell you? Well I'm not to sure really.

I guess it's because I will be able to share mine and Martin's birthday experience with you all on my return, and believe me there will be story to report!

I will now leave you pondering in a puddle of thoughts to whether we are going Quad Biking in Dulais Valley, having Helicopter Lessons at Whizzard, or joining Jack Osbourne in the Sahara Desert for this weeks episode with Josh Hartnett. I know I'd be hoping for the latter!

I am very excited to inform all you guys, girls and young terrors out there of a brand new provider that we are delighted to bring to you all, courtesy of Whizzard Helicopters.

Located in Welshpool Powys, they bring bounds of fun, offering Helicopter Pleasure Flights to presenting you with the opportunity to try your hand dipping and diving, operating the Helicopter yourself. But of course, you will not find yourself in a similar situation as Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses and his turmoil to control his Para glider, as you will, at all times, be accompanied by a highly qualified instructor.

If you are an avid fan of Only Fools and Horses, you will appreciate my little reference to the hilarious episode above, if not (tut tut), I shall now make you familiar.

Basically, Del and Rodney continue to compete against one another throughout the episode to steal a young lady's heart, who happens to be highly interested in Paragliding. During the heated competition, Rodney believes a glorious sun-kissed tan will make her weak, and jumps on the sunbed. Big mistake while old Del Boy's on the prowl. Del feels he isn't getting much of a tan, and so cranks it up to high, Rodney falls asleep. Ouch.

Waking up, Rodney is rather sore and seeing red, looking remarkably like a Baboons bottom and seeking revenge. He gladly accompanies Del to the hills, where he has announced to the lady that he is a terrific para glider, cue a recipe for disaster. But Del is no silly billy. He arranges with Rodney, that just when he is about to take off, Rodney is to shout out in front of everyone that the 'car phone' is ringing and Del must leave urgently. Sorted? I don't think so.

All kitted up, Del is ready to hear his loyal brothers call. Surprisingly, it doesn't come. So, thinking Rodney has forgotten, Del prompts him, ''Is that our car phone I can hear ringing Rodney?'' Rodney happily replies, ''We haven't got a car phone!'' Absolute class, gets me every time. And I am sure you can imagine how Del returns home! If you would like to watch the episode for real, though you do now know what happens, it is amongst the cracking, 'Tea For Three'.

Well anyway my apologies, I did go off on one then with Only Fools, back to my reason for writing to you all. The magnificent wonders of Whizzard Helicopters. With Christmas just around the corner and Activity Wales knocking at your door with experiences such as this, what are you waiting for. Half Term Mayhem!

Since having left College a few years ago, I seem to have lost all knowledge of the school holidays throughout the year. I guess it would due to the fact that I don't really have a reason to be up to date with that sort of thing anymore.
But, oh boy are we soon aware of any break from school, college or uni at Activity Wales. Common symptoms are the constant sound of the phones ringing, late lunch breaks and the presence of a red hot sweat across our brow! All of those symptoms lead to a firm diagnosis. The students are loose and craving excitement!
It really is a fantastic time for all our team though, keeping us busy and up on our toes, working together and helping all you adrenalin junkies out there to give meaning to your holiday!
Talking of adrenalin junkies, I am fixated at the moment with Jack Osbourne. He has got to be American and have been fathered by Ozzie, what a nutter! Mind you, not only does he get jiggy with heights, wrestle with white water and enthusiastically leap from helicopters (he is dangling by a rope mind, he's not that crazy!), he brings a few of his 'friends' with him! I would take my hat off to him if I was wearing one. Go Jack.

I do feel however, that there are plenty of Jack Osbourne wannabes out there in Wales and beyond, who fancy their chances at giving a few daring Activity Wales Experiences a try! Don't worry, they are all led by highly qualified instructors and not Jack himself!

Pretty soon most of us silly spooks will be celebrating the Halloween holiday that occurs (thankfully), only once a year on 31st October. Traditions including costume parties, trick-or-treating, carving Jack-o-Lanterns and Ghost Hunting are amongst the celebrations for many. Especially if you live in America, they just go crazy for all things Halloween!

Being an avid fan of the television programme 'Most Haunted', a would personally love to spend a night in a haunted Welsh Castle, to hear the bumps and bangs disturbing the eerie silence, and lighting candles to brighten up the plentiful dark rooms.

As a youngster, (not that I am that much older now), I loved to dress up as a grumpy, old Witch. I would wear a black bin bag with a hole cut with scissors to pop my head through the top, and rummage through my mums expensive make-up bag in order to decorate myself with lipstick and blusher to enhance my gruesome, witch-like looks. I did always wonder though why my mum insisted drawing a pimple on the end of my nose if I wanted to play witch for the evening. In thinking about it though, I suppose I do associate a Witch with having a crooked, rather large nose with a big, black pimple on the end. I guess that must be the same image for us all, including my mum. But hold on, if it is, then I have spotted a big problem. Mum always popped the pimple on my nose. That's not good.

I guess everyone has there own, unique way of celebrating this chilling time of year, or maybe just not bothering at all. But, if you are open to ideas of partaking in something completely different and intriguing this year, then why not try a haunted break in a Castle, in Wales. You can then let me know how scary you found it, and then maybe I'll book in for next year!
